Basic Game Rules

Objective

Be the first player or team to form the required number of sequences (5 consecutive chips in a row).

Sequence Requirements

  • Individual play (2-4 players): 2 sequences to win
  • Team play (2 teams): 2 sequences to win
  • Team play (3 teams): 1 sequence to win

Valid Sequences

  • Horizontal: 5 chips in a row left to right
  • Vertical: 5 chips in a row top to bottom
  • Diagonal: 5 chips in a row diagonally
Card Play Rules

Regular Cards

  • Each card corresponds to specific spaces on the board
  • Players must place chips on matching card spaces
  • Cards must be announced when played
  • Dead cards (unplayable) may be discarded

Jack Cards (Special)

One-Eyed Jacks
  • • Remove opponent's chip
  • • Cannot remove from completed sequences
  • • Cannot remove from corner spaces
Two-Eyed Jacks
  • • Place chip on any open space
  • • Wild card - choose any available spot
  • • Cannot place on occupied spaces
Board Rules

Corner Spaces

  • Four corner spaces are free for all players
  • No cards required to use corners in sequences
  • Cannot be blocked or removed
  • Count as wild spaces for sequence formation

Chip Placement

  • Only one chip per board space
  • Chips cannot be moved once placed (except by Jack removal)
  • Chips in completed sequences cannot be removed
  • Players must use their assigned chip color
Team Play Rules

Team Formation

  • Teams must be declared before game start
  • Team members share the same chip color
  • Teams alternate turns (not individual players)
  • Team members cannot communicate about cards

Team Communication

  • No verbal communication about cards or strategy
  • No showing cards to teammates
  • No coded signals or gestures
  • General game discussion is allowed
Tournament Rules

Time Limits

  • Maximum 60 seconds per turn in competitive play
  • 10-second warning before time expires
  • Automatic random card play if time expires
  • No time bank or extensions

Penalties

  • Illegal moves result in turn forfeit
  • Communication violations: warning, then disqualification
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct: immediate disqualification
  • Disconnection: 2-minute reconnection window

Scoring System

  • • Win: 3 points
  • • Draw/Tie: 1 point each
  • • Loss: 0 points
  • • Disqualification: -1 point
Dispute Resolution

Rule Disputes

  • Players can pause game to request rule clarification
  • Game moderator or system makes final decision
  • Unresolved disputes result in game replay
  • Repeated disputes may result in penalties

Technical Issues

  • Game state is automatically saved every turn
  • Connection issues: game continues from last saved state
  • Server errors: games are voided and restarted
  • Bug reports should be submitted immediately
